one thing I've learned about living here for the past 3 years: ATLANTA LOVES BRUNCH!
my friends and I have tried nearly every spot and narrowed down our favs we visit regularly, one of which is Carroll Street Cafe on...you guessed it, Carroll St. cute atmosphere and super YUMMY Belgian waffles its a great spot for brunch as well as a great dinner menu with tapas and delish cocktails.

other brunch favorites include: Ria's Bluebird, Rise and Dine, Homegrown, Midway and Java Jive!

can't wait for days when the sun is not so rare which hopefully will be the case in April when I visit Hawaii with my lady Stephanie. currently on the hunt for swimsuits via Victoria Secret, Target (always has the best for cheap!) and frequently visiting Shop Style for new ideas.

happy mid-week!

the dress

this is a FLASHBACK post to Valentines Day when I wore my very special ASOS dress that Ryan surprised me with for Christmas. Saving it for the right occasion I had tucked it away in my closet. figured the day of celebrating love and doing so with a fancy date night was perfect timing! I wanted the dress to do all the 'talking' so I went out and bought nude tights, which I had never everrrrr worn before. wasn't all that bad especially since it gave my ghost legs some color! (ladies: CVS-2 pairs for $6!)

I really like that my boyfriend has great taste because I never would have gone for a dress like this on my own. let me clarify...I wouldn't go for a dress like this due to the shape, or rather my shape. I don't care for bandage/pencil styles because I'm self conscious about my hips but with the peplum it isn't an issue! thanks to my fashion forward sweety I've now discovered a new style I can rock with confidence!

enjoy the last bit of February but I'm sure you're just as excited for this flu + rainy month to end and Spring to begin!

as always street style is always my favorite part about New York fashion week and this round didn't disappoint even though attendees had to deal with a BLIZZARD they still sported fabulous threads on the streets in between shows. I scoured through sites such as Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Calivintage, Free People, Vogue and Refinery 29 and collected my favorites from last week.

my favorite trend: the FUR! being the cold natured lady I am, I would have totally been wrapped up from head to toe! even though the fashionistas had to layer in warm garments they still added bold and bright colors like Hanneli's neon green jacket. if I end up making it to a fashion week I'll have to be sure to go when I won't freeze my bum off!

happy hump day!

MONDAY NIGHT BREWING

Hey yall, this is Ryan. I'm that sweety sweet sweet boyfriend//Silver Foxxx guy Jess keeps talking about. Because she's a sweetheart herself, she lent me her blog for this post to tell ya just how much fun we had on our Saturday afternoon date to a brewery; which I took her to for completely unselfish reasons. sort of :P
this wasn't just any brewery tour. No ma'am, this was Monday Night Brewing's launch week & it was glorious.  I had the great fortune to visit the space and use MNB co-founders Jeff, Joel, and Jonathan as models in an all men's pin up calendar I sponsored and organized this past summer. At that time, besides palates upon palates of kegs and the guys playing bocce in the office, the place looked deserted.  I can't tell you how excited I was to see the finished product, but here's my best shot.

I'm wearing: a Clapham Tie, H&M jacket + shirt, LOVA denim, and ROUGE boots.
More importantly, I'm drinking: the 1st beer of the 4 you get with your $10 entry fee; The Drafty Kilt. It's a Scotch Ale that is more than a wee bit full bodied weighing in at 7.2% ABV with smoke and chocolate notes that has a lightly sweet finish.
MNB_4
Believe it or not, it all started in that bucket (to the left) in MNB's CEO and Supreme Beer Chancellor, Jeff Heck's, garage.  Now, you can find their beer in growleries (that's totally a word...promise), restaurants, and coffee shops all around Atlanta. Oh, and they just bought a bottling machine. Finally, Fu Man Brews and movies featuring Fu Man Chus Night can be a thing!
MNB_6

ties = good
 beer = great
Ties + Beer = a beautiful thing
Fun fact: If you bring a tie to donate to the wall, you get $1 off of your entry fee!

"I'm gonna need a moment."
MNB_last
The space is beautiful.  The beer is magnificent and at $10 a ticket for a tour, 4 nearly full glasses of beer, and your very own MNB pint glass included in the ticket cost; you have no excuse.  Tours are on Mondays 5:30-7:30, Thursdays 5:30-7:30, and Saturdays 2:00-4:00. For your health, drop by 670 Trabert Ave NW, get your tour on, play some shuffleboard, and "Tie One On"...or ya know..several.
