since the snow storm we atlantans have been waiting patiently for some sunny days and low and behold-we received! naturally Kristie and i took advantage of the enjoyable temperatures and went around town hitting up some of the best antique shops such as Paris on Ponce, Scarlet Loves Retro and the Fainting Couch. my objective was to find the perfect desk for a small space in my bedroom and while i didn't go home with the price-winner, i know there is the right one at the right price out there...somewhere...
needless to say we had a good time, here are some snaps of the adventure//

other outfit deetz:
Me: dress: UO, jacket//purse//sunnies//necklace: Vintage
KJO: dress: H&M, jacket: BillyReid, purse: Vintage Fendi, necklace: various

i am so so so so so so so so so so SO excited to finally be able to wear my Lucky boots that were a Christmas gift from mom! you see the day after NYE i broke a small toe on my right foot and since then it's been comfort shoes only, which is not all that fun when you love to dress up. now the little guy is healed and i can sport these amazing green boots i've been dying to take for a spin-what do you think???

another [green] item i am ecstatic about is this jacket Kristie found at a yard sale and actually got on the free. when she came home and showed me i was ALL about it, begging her to trade it with something-anything of mine..she agreed and said we'd figure it out later-such a lovely friend i have ! :)) !

so there you have it, just a tidbit of our afternoon perusing around town checking out vintage.

as yesterday AND today have been nice as well all of atlanta is out and about. for the most part i spent yesterday at an office desk but today i did manage to get out to L5P via bike and get these legs a'movin!

tonight is a clothing swap + vino//potluck party with my ladies-will be sharing my trades later this week!

after spotting a shopper at UO wearing a very similar version of this coat all casual-like i've since decided it doesn't need to be a super fancy night to bring it out. it's no longer going to sit lonely in my closet just because it's glamourous, i had fun wearing it to dinner and drinks as well as around town the next day.

as some of you have seen on the nightly news-Atlanta residents have experienced the worst snow storm in 15yrs and to many this meant a week off of school//work-BUT for me this meant bundling up and slipping on ice all the way to le'job!

here is what i wore and survived on during Snowpocalypse:
IMG_3781
sweater, hat and jeggings: H&M, jacket and tee: Urban, purse, boots and belt: vintage, deer antler necklace: gift from Miss Emma Key

NYE, Flashback outfit edition

here are some better shots of my new hair and the outfit i wore on New Years Eve. normally i don't condone bare legs in the winter but since Atlanta wasn't super freezing and i knew i'd be primarily indoors i opted out of wearing tights. thought it would have been too much with this ensemble anyways and wearing leather shorts just seemed to justify the exposed leg action.

just wondering-what do you think of bare legs in the winter??

many things about this outfit excite me-
#1. the vintage sequin cardigan, given to me from my Nana's collection of clothes while visiting home- it's super soft on the inside and breathable. i can already tell it's a new favorite!

#2. the small button i am wearing reading "LF" that my boyfriend surprised me with for Christmas. knowing that he had a button maker i had talked about doing a project for the blog, but being that procrastination is in my genes-never got around to it. he listened and took action and it couldn't have made me happier! i will be doing a reader giveaway soon that will include a few of them, more colors to come as well!

#3. my leopard boots that are made of real pony-?? hair. not sure of the exact animal the hair//fur has come from i just know they are fabulous! and i scored them for $19.99 at UrbanOutfitters.

#4. lastly, another UO item, my leather Silence & Noise shorts i got from Mom for Christmas. this was my first night taking them out on the town and hasn't been the last. they are high-waisted and so comfy, plus made of beautiful black leather-im in LOVE!

nye_outfit7
yep, real excited on the new year and my outfit!

outfit details-put simple,

here is the post and photos I have been dying to share, more of my outfit to come but this is the post directly from SorryDarlin.com

♥♥♥♥♥♥

New Years Eve via Lady Flashback!

Hey there blog babies! I’m super excited to welcome a new girl to our team- Lady Flashback! Check out her own sweet blog here and stay tuned for her fashion musings, party pix and general Flashback magic. Her first round of party photos are up in the photo gallery, so check them out! Plus our newest Darlin will be shooting Hot and Sticky this Thursday at Eastside Lounge, so please give her unicorn kisses and make her feel super welcome! - Sarah

As a huge fan of Sorry,Darlin I was thrilled when Sarah approached me about collaborating efforts with her blog and mine, LadyFlashback.com. I have been blogging about fashion, photography, home decor, parties, DIY, and all things vintage for over 3 years now. Relocating to Atlanta has opened up many doors for me in the internet world as well as nightlife. Just last month my blog was awarded the superlative for “Hip Style Blog” in Atlanta Magazine, see the article here. Being a long time fan of photography it dawned on me that shooting parties professionally was my calling since I was already taking 100+ photos any given weekend. This opportunity to shoot with Sorry,Darlin blows my mind, extremely excited for adventures to come!

Our first experience together just so happened to be NYE, what a purrrfect night to shoot for the VERY FIRST TIME-huh?!?!

The Darlin ladies and I agree-it went marvelous, take a look for yourself over at the photo gallery.

Here are my top 11 favorites of the night we rang in 2011 at MJQ

as mentioned in previous post, i've gone big with a new hair style, ie-cut it all off .!. BUT i wanted to hold out showing everyone until the NYE photos are done and posted over on SorryDarlin.com so here is a mini peak of my hair,
LF_2011_1
top: vintage via EBV, scarf: no brand, made in India, jacket: vintage, bag: vintage Jordache, Sunglasses: Chloe

Yup, mystery still remains, heheh!

but more importantly about these photos is the jacket and purse, both of which had me all smiles when they were found! the vintage Jordache purse made it into my hands by total chance as i was bidding on an exact same, slightly bigger Diane Von Furstenberg bag weeks ago on Ebay. after not winning the bag i was hell-bent-and-determined to find a look alike, no luck on Ebay OR Etsy so i pretty much gave up and moved on...then while shopping at Highland Row Antiques for some Christmas ornaments for the vino party found my perfect match, and for a mere $15.00! done deal! been carrying every since.
the jacket wasn't quite as thrilling but i was pumped the moment i put it on, even Kareem pointed out the HUGE smile on my face at Rag-O-Rama when i traded for this $12.00 beauty. i am a little sad these photos don't show the built-in belt and synching details but they are soon to follow, this jacket is going no where!

have a nice Saturday everyone

it wasn't until a couple of days ago i was made aware that the Atlanta Magazine had awarded LadyFlashback.com the superlative for "Hip Style Blog" in their December issue. when i found out about the possible mention back in November i thought it was just that-a mention. to my surprise i was told that i had actually made the "Best of Atlanta" list.

i am thrilled to get any recognition but a real life print magazine that just celebrated their 50th birthday, even more RAD!

so here is the scanned front of magazine and my spot on the page,

breast of atlanta
thanks Kareem for helping with the graphic setup!

and since i was so incredibly sick for and around Christmas i wanted to share some classy images from our Classy Christmas VINO party hosted by my roommate and i on December 16. thinking this party is where someone got everyone so so sick, since my friends were also ill a day or so later-opps .!. nonetheless we mingled, nibbled, laughed and got merry with some whites and reds.

also wanted to snap some photos of the lovely Elizabeth and her eclectic outfit, she had henna tattoos on her hands-too bad i didn't get a close-up!
batch4
i believe this is [mostly] vintage w//F21 heels
batch3

always adore her mix of colors, patterns and styles!

hosting potlucks & events seems to be my thing and i usually get carried away making foodies, this time was no different. i made stuffed feta mushrooms and a spinach artichoke fondue recipe i found via the Melting Pot. the mushrooms i free-styled because you can't really go wrong with bread crumbs, shrooms, feta and seassoning... and the fondue was so easy, and it had everyone coming back for seconds, here it is:

    3oz. chopped cooked spinach
    3oz. chopped artichoke hearts
    1 spoon of minced garlic
    8oz. shredded cheddar cheese
5 turns of cracked black pepper
    for dipping:
    cubed bread- french/rye/pumpernickel
    vegetables - coliflower/carrots/celery/broccoli

serves 4 so i multiplied everything x3 i believe, made a ton!

and lastly,
wanted to share my stingy santa gift i went home with from a friends holiday party,
IMG_3067
magical right????
i plan to paint the frame and then hang it someone very visible in my apartment!

well that sums up some of my December happenings but the best is yet to come-
NEW YEARS EVE photos, stay tuned!
