but good for all!
while attending a recent garage sale in the neighborhood I stumbled upon two Barneys catalogs from fall 08 & s/s 09. total pain-in-the-ass to scan all these with the thickness of the paper and set up at the parental's house but it's so worth it to show all of you! spotted these and thought, man, so many ladies would DIE for these items//take a looksie.
everything above is perfection.
don't mind if i do.
eeeee!
great idea, right??!
what do you think? yes, the prices are super steep but damn it's all magical.home from traveling, gearing up for a busy busy week.

y'all!
Today we went out to the Wilson Cabin on the Black Warrior River to enjoy good ole southern cooking, fires, frisbee, youngins, loving family and lots of laughter. We have now made the cabin a tradition after completing our 5th year of returning to the wooded get away, and there are noooo complaints here. The weather was everything one could ask for for a late November day-chilly but warm in the sun or pushing around a 2yr old on a tractor! I truly adore this time of year just to be able to see all the family I have had to neglect in years past while moving all over the country. guess that's what I'm thankful for, the fam.
couple more days in Bamaland && tomorrow is one of the biggest football games of the year-for my University-and we will definitely be throwing down! I'm going to do a football post soon of my outfits from games past, hehe, everyone gets pretty into it in my neck of the woods but I'm not a super fan or anything-just like to wave my pom pom :)
Have a lovely night ladies!!

Adrienne and her photography, last weekend was a push pin photography sale/show here in the hood over at The Big House Gallery and guess who won "best in show"? Yep, second row, far left is the beauty that won. We attended last minute, but just in time for me to snatch up my fav, second row, far right. now I just need to find the perfect frame.
blazer/Kenneth Cole, dress/Vintage, tights/Urban (torn by me), boots/leather shoppe, purse/Michael Kors
one happy customer!
I called this outfit a "rough draft" since I plan to take off 5-7 inches from the bottom and also want to rip the tights up way more making them like webs. but for this particular night it seemed to work.

prior to capture, a dog got away from it's owner and was harassing me, meanwhile we're trying to not be awkward taking this random ass photo around several pedestrians. good times. you can't see them but there's actually tropical plants around me. . .

dress/Vintage, yours truely took off 7 inches from the bottom, hat/450 mile yard sale, socks/Urban Outfitters, booties/Vintage, found at hostel in NOLA.
Adrienne is a friend of mine, also from Alabama, and actually lives in a radass loft down the street. She has a love for all things black, photography, fashion and her cat Windsor (who falls in the all things black category. . ) Something I find real cool is that she uses expired film (like above) which may or may not always turn out like planned but it sure is unique! We took these shots randomly and were only yelled at once. ha, the results were fun.
straight chillin.

today DP and I had brunch at java jive on Ponce where we enjoyed delicious buttermilk pancakes w/cinnamon butter and a mochachinno. the small restaurant was filled with the best 30's-70's kitchenware/vintage decor, I was in heaven! afterwards we bought some wall hardware and hung our shelves and spiced up the dinning room with some of my own vintage decor. for dinner we cooked up the fresh salmon-in parchment paper, asparagus, and jalapeno cheese grits that we picked up at the whole foods that we just discovered, major jackpot having that close! along with chilling out and watching a movie or two, we got in a little frisbee time and some housework accomplished. overall a grrand sunday!

super thrilled to show you all my new blazer by Kenneth Cole, the most comfortable article of clothing in my closet, and everything I wanted in a blazer. woo hoo.
today we experienced a little of hurricane Ida, which made for a long gloomy Tuesday. def glad to be chiling around the house, under a blanket, resting my sore muscles. g'night ladies!
oh and thanks Sofia of Wine in the Afternoon for the Kreativ Blogger Award!

which involves writing 7 random facts about myself and passing on the award to 7 other bloggers to do the same, here goes.
1. These lists make me a little nervous & I ALWAYS feel, after the fact, that I've left out something way more cool. . .
2. I played basketball competitively for nearly 10 years, & was even coached by my Dad on an all boys team.
3. In college I gave the whole sorority thing a try but after one semester decided it was not for me-that short period of time sure was packed with badass parties though & most were themed!
4. I have not eaten beef in 3-4 years (maybe more??), but have picked up fish which I never never liked until maybe a year ago.
5. My family and I were the first family in Kansas (approx. 5th grade) to join up with Big Brother Big Sister *the volunteer organization for children needing a mentor or family support* and were featured in the local newspaper & nightly news (where I had my first "breakthrough" TV moment-ahhahah)
6. Guess the last fact led to my "career" in news broadcasting in high school as a news anchor/director/editor/ETC- for the senior video, I was in charge of editing all the footage from prom!
7. Once I found these 3 starlings in my dad's boat trailer and raised them until I literally taught them to fly (kind of literally, basically threw them up in the air until they caught on) and they went on to live in the wild and sustain.
(somehow my 'facts' turned out to be a lot of reminiscing, whatev.)
I would like to pass on the award and tag to:
2. Calivintage
3. DeuxFashion
These ladies rock, be sure to check'em out!
((these post was short & sweet until I added the list and tag today and decided I should pass it along after all, now it's just SUUHWEET))

we danced up on the balcony level and had a goodie time before running through a down pour to the car and getting soaked to the max. this made it real easy to curl up in blankets and giggle till we fell asleep. gotta love slumber parties!
Saturday night we hit up MJQ for their Halloween party-free Pabst till 12:30 and NO COVER!
I did my makeup a little more fierce, since I had more time, and managed to wear the wig for the whole night! some said I looked like Lady Gaga and you know, I can dig it!
Ashleigh channeled David Bowie from Labyrinth-good huh?!
such fun decorations!
this weekend ruled so hard, sad it's over, but now it's November and with it comes Thanksgiving and that's always Yummmmy.
