it's like fresh baked pie..

had a great weekend, although it did not include that many photos I do have a couple from the week dazzze..

made it a little tradition going to the Green Door Market on Sundays to pick up fresh flowers from next door-these are the second go around and pictures of new ones coming later. maybe.

speaking of fresh, I was walking around our premises and discovered a large black berry bush stocked with ripe-ready-to-go berries! This is the BIGGEST BERRY found,  I zoomed in on Iphoto and you could see the moisture on an individual berry, way cool to have a good camera! after this was taken I ate it immediately and right then all the sweating && burning cuts from the prickly bush were totally worth it.

this is batch one of two, my neighbor picked another 2 cups or so and I washed'em up real good and baked my first pie! Super simple too, I found the recipe ((here))

the second pie crust, used for the top, was kinda gooey and therefore broke apart making it hard to cover so I improvised and attempted to make 'weaved strips.' 

ha, turned out ghetto but way Yummy!! especially heated up with vanilla  icecream.

these flowers reminded me of the wild ones that grow on the side of interstates and such that are protected by the law and if picked you will be served a large fine. I've always wanted to pull over and grab a handful or two but paying the 2.00 in quarters is a whole lot safer.

don't really like this outfit all that much, but am really excited about these sandals. they are a little hard to find things to go with (maybe I'm just over analyzing) but they sure are comfy. This week I plan on celebrating the 4th with my family and catching some 'healthy' sun via the lake and my handy dandy SPF. def going to post the latest vintage gear whenever Savannah gets it up on the Ebay store...*cough cough*...

It's Friday! More specifically the 4th Friday of the month which means it's time for another Castleberry Art Stroll!!! Friends are coming over later for a grill fest ++ bevies, then heading down the street to look at some local's work. should be fun. Last night we grabbed some grubbage at Slice while listening to a local DJ for a bit before heading over to the Deer Lofts down the road.  Hanging around friends, getting dressed cute, making plans-it's all so therapeutic. Whenever you find yourself down in the dumps, get glamourous! perhaps you could throw on your craziest dress and twirl around, for example//

a beer a Day..

before hitting the Candler Park MidSummer Music Fest last weekend Dp and I stopped at a bench outside the grounds for a quick picnic and brewskies (that were left post cook out-score!). the heat was too overwhelming for us, therefor we did not stay long, but the time spent was super fun!

Many nights ago I wore this to grab some drinks with friends and although the sweater tank was a little too thick to tuck in, I did it anyways.  

Green and mustard isn't a combination I have put much thought into trying out but once I looked at this I said-hm-they do compliment each other well.. 

At only $5.00 (via Urban Outfitters) this nail polish is my new obsession && lasts way long! This bracelet goes so well with the color, I haven't taken it off either-thanks Emma-again!

Savannah took both above && below photos in between shooting this past week for the Ebay store. This one where I'm holding Tater in the air to play with the fan pulls totally cracked me up!

Choosing an outfit that's the least suffocating  in the blistering heat-this vintage Christian Dior sweater dress definitely caused some sweat action!

Friday in between grilling && eating I snapped this cute pic of my girl pal Adrienne-who's tank, new bangs, and pimped out Holga were simply photo worthy.

Picked up these sunflowers at the Green Door Market here in Castleberry Hills for .75 and turned them into a table top piece with beer bottles consumed via Hop City.

 

Today Savannah came into town to shoot for EBV, great pieces I must say,  will definitely share when they go up. We are also shooting tomorrow and hopefully mother nature will take mercy on our soles and release a cool breeze. highly unlikely.

I live for this mustard beanie (duh, right?) and my new tri-blend Silence & Noise top purchased at UO! I can't seem to take this comfy shirt off, wore it to The Real Chow Baby, a fantastic eatery that is a build your own stir fry restaurant and again to an informal photo shoot I have yet to mention-(later on that).  I love pieces that are flexible enough to be worn everywhere with anything-those are the best! What are some of y'alls favorite pieces that go with everything in your closet? another piece that goes with everything is clearly this purse I have on in every pic.

ugghhhh. This weekend just ended for me, entertaining guests this morning and afternoon until I bid them farewell back to Bamaland.  We had a fabulous weekend and even did a some shopping yesterday in Little Five Points and afterwards grabbing a drink and apps.  The gang and I pulled together and cooked many meals, as expected, which all were uber delish!! For now I'm chilling out enjoying the quiet and watching some TV via Hulu.

Ran to Urban some days ago and returned a pair of oxfords that I didn't think was necessary and in turn left with three things at the same price; one of which was new stripped tennies! Anyways this what I wore, love this top I found at a boutique in Gulf Shores, Wild Flowers, several years ago and bring it out every year.

Yesterday was uber fun as we had friends from home come into town for a three day event, Dubocracy, which is a mini fest down the road featuring Dub Step tunes including White Noise from Tuscaloosa! We attended last night's show which consisted of wicked light shows, a free stylin MC & lots of beats! We have all been kickin it around the house after venturing out to the farmer's market in Decatur and stocking up for several feasts-two of which have already gone down.  I am definitely going back to visit that market, it really did blow our mind!

Never got around to posting [the event] in the paper, or hitting up local markets with flyers either, but we did nail many signs around the surrounding blocks which I think helped out a tad///

kept the Cardinal pillow after thinking about it, had the thing since junior year of high school and got a little sentimental. Overall I wasn't bad about doing that and with a little help got pretty good at pricing-at first I was setting the standards too high, heheh.

early on it was very chilly-hints cardi and pants-but after the clouds dispersed we were screwed-hints the sunburned bodies for the next week.
