As I mentioned in the previous post, I did in fact break my digi cam. Above is the last picture I took with it before the 'crash' in which I turned into a polariod through Poladroid. I have found myself craving a camera more and more as the days pass, but maybe things will change soon. I can always send it in to be fixed but phone bills, car insurance, ETC ETC ... suckingly come first. I guess Ill just have to call on Santa!!
Aside from a bunk camera I had a really great weekend. Drove up to Opelika for some hang time with the sweetie i.e. sipped on wine, ate some grub, watched Pineapple Express (hysterical!), shopped around Atlanta hitting up H&M, threw the frizzbee , played tag, my Oh my I could go on! Basically it was chilled and superb.
Hope everyone's weekend was everything they wanted :)
nothing to do with nothing.

Today I did a shoot with Savannah from E.B.Vintage for a couple of hours and her finds were awesome. There were numerous dress+coat sets from an Estate Sale and other goodies that I will post when they are up.
She surprised me with a vintage University of Alabama sweatshirt that totally rocks that I will be sporting very soon esp. considering we are #1 in the nation [for football](!!!!) Anywho, we used the following shoes in the shoot and I was really excited because I think they are some of my favorite shoes I own.

I Wish Wednesday

For a while there I was posting "I Wish Wednesday" on a weekly bases, but then slowly got caught up in other things. But now I sit here on a sunny Wednesday afternoon and have the time to post and have just a couple wishes for today.
(Most Important)
#1. I wish I could score a job in graphic design making a decent salary with benefits and all.
#2. Considering I just broke my camera (isn't life just grand?!) I wish to own this:

#3. I wish I owned more black AND gray; the following photos are of ladies sporting bits of black (or) gray in the most charming manor around.
From the French site: Garance Dore'

Love this men's wear twist, fancy clothes and feminine purse <3

Oh my! Her accessories are grand right?

THOSE BOOTS!!

Ok, I know Alabama isn't so cold as other parts of the world, but I would totally rock this over-sized scarf!!

I am not sure but I believe this is Dani Stahl from Nylon's Factory Girl column. Anyone agree? Regardless those sequin leggings rule!

These pants are Marc Jacobs, I have a similar vintage pair that are different fabric but I equally adore.

The Days Pass

The past couple of days I've had the worst headache ever. It's been following me everywhere. I have not, however, let it slow me down. I think the achy dome is stress related due to the recent events, i.e. my department getting cut and loosing my job. It has thrown me through many loops and upset me pretty badly. The only thing to do now is get back on my feet and start from the start. And that's what I have been doing, I went all over the place handing out my resume' and letters of recommendation. There are a few hopeful positions that wouldn't be too shabby and I'm crossing my fingers. In the mean time I have been doing lots of arts-and-crafts and rearranging my town house in all sorts of ways. I am not going to let the set back of loosing my job to a piss poor economy stop me from dressing cute either. I am a believer that if you want to feel good, than look good. Sunday (for an amazing pre-Thanksgiving Potluck with tons of friends) and Monday (running errands and hanging with the sweetie), here is what I wore:

Tomorrow I'm flying out for my brother's last home football game, and if I haven't mentioned the bro yet, he's the quaterback at Washington U in St. Louis. There is another brother as well who is currently my roommate in the townhouse. We will be arriving in St. Louis around 12 or so and going to meet up with Buck and go to some banquet. The game is going to be miserable considering the freezing temp and chance of rain.(but) Have to be there for the fam, and we always have a good time together.

Below is an outfit I wore last week when I was obsessed with my black jeans (still am!!)

What a chaotically fun weekend. Friday didn't go completely as planned and when does it ever. (?) When we finally made it into STS9 after the "no-will-call-ticket-fiasco," and had been given two free tickets, I realized it was all worth it because the show was awesome. They [Sound Tribe Sector Nine] had this light system that looked like huge robots behind the band while performing and in complete synch with the tunes. Afterwards we spent the remainder of the evening frolicking around the bed and breakfast. Here are some photos:

A couple too many dolls for my taste, but I thought over all it was beautiful.

It was a super chilly night so I threw on my (new) Vintage Members Only jacket that I bought at One Night Only last Wednesday.

I'm so in love with these pants/boots/jacket that I have been wearing different combos for the past couple of days.

***This expression really illustrates how boring today really is. Not much to do at work just waiting around on approvals. b.o.r.i.n.g. But fear not, it's Thursday and my spirits are high because tonight I'm going to hang with some gals and then tomorrow it's boogie time!! Going to Birmingham for the weekend to check into a bed & breakfast built in the late 1800's. Then quickly heading to the Alabama Theater to bust some moves at STS9. I really enjoy the AL Theater and esp enjoy the band so it should turn out to be one hella good night. Saturday we plan on spending time around the B&B and taking some photos for my new Etsy shop. The afternoon is going to be spent hiking around the mountians at Oak Mtn National Park and then off to a bar watching to check out the game and the evening at a fancy restaurant. I am really pumped and hope all goes as planned.
Have a grand Thursday All!

While browsing through my photo library I realized I never posted the few pictures I took of the items purchased from Kentuck (the annual art festival).

I've got 1/2 the world, on my head.
The artist behind this wacky folk art is Robert "Frito" Seven, who I actually met at a music festi in NC a couple of summers ago.
He is a really kind guy based out of Ashville, NC and a very talented artist.

This lovely screen print was made by a fellow named Amos out of Gordo, Alabama.
He is very skilled and extremely blunt, hehe.
Last year I bought two prints and gave one to a friend for Christmas, this year I bought two and kept them both (other print not pictured).
I really enjoy his work a lot, and it's very reasonably priced.

The other really fun deal with Amos is that he lets everyone who buys a print actually screen print a bag of their own with his enormous machine he brings along. I thought this years bag was perfect, and completely describes my feelings towards politics.
This year, due MOSTLY to complications, I am not voting. kind of a bummer, but really I just don't care for either.

I have zero recollection of their artist who created these cards but aren't they grand!? There must be 10 or so different mediums used in each card and pressed together to create a beauty. Don't know when I'll every use them seeing as how I usually hold on to objects like these for a while before letting them go.

Weekend Recap
posted on: Monday, November 3, 2008
Currently still recovering from the throw down this weekend. Thursday I went as Harry Potter to a huge house party with hired security, couple of bands, and tons of good people. I wore the Gryffindor cape/robe that I found at a thrift shop, vintage wig, costume glasses, and a scarf that my gal pal Beth Ann knitted me! It was stellar, see for yourself:

The following day (Friday) Dusty and I worked on his Beetlejuice costume for about 2 hours and also my Lydia Deets costume. Since I owned a lot of my costume already I only had to sew a vial together from tulle and lace and it was complete. For the Beetlejuice attire we had found a second-hand black suit that I painted stripes to match Beetlejuices' from the movie. We had watched the flick a couple of days before to get ready for the night and paid close attention to Beetlejuice and Lydia Deet's outfits.
